Last Chance: 'Dine in the Pool' Deadline Today

If you were wondering what you can do to help save Town Park pool, attending this fundraiser slated for Saturday would work. But today is your last chance to reserve a ticket!

If you ever wanted to dine in Town Park pool in Canonsburg—yes, inside the pool—today is your last chance to reserve your spot for a good cause.

Canonsburg Parks and Recreation Board is sponsoring what members are calling a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience—dinner and dancing inside the pool—as a fundraiser to purchase a new pool liner.

The prime rib feast will be provided by Texas Roadhouse and is slated for Saturday.

But here's the thing: Today is the last day to reserve your spot.

Tickets are $40 each or two for $75, and will include valet parking, hors d’oeuvres, a complete prime rib dinner, as well as dancing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (dinner will be at 6:30 p.m.).

Seating is limited to 300.

Interested? This is what you need to know: To purchase tickets for the event, checks, written to Friends of the Park, may be sent to Friends of the Park, P.O. Box 4, Canonsburg, PA 15317.

Those who cannot attend are urged to make donations, as the pool cannot open without the new liner. All donations are tax deductible.

Editor's Note: The event is the first of several fundraisers the park board is planning to help raise $150,000 for the liner. The borough is attempting to pay for the liner without increasing taxes.
