Last Chance: Halloween Happenings This Week
Several local Halloween-themed events are happening this week—be there!

Are your little ghosts, goblins and princesses ready for Halloween next week?
Even though Canonsburg, Cecil and North Strabane will all hold their trick-or-treats on Oct. 31, there are several events with a Halloween theme that can tide the kiddies over until it's time to yell, "Trick or treat!" in costume to neighbors.

- Canonsburg General Hospital's annual Halloween Trail will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday—today. The event—a walking trail—is filled with tricks and treats for children younger than 12. Treats and bags will be provided. In the event of inclement weather, the Halloween Trail will be held indoors. These programs are provided as a community service. - Cecil Township Parks & Recreation Board will host its first-ever Trail of Treats at 7 p.m. Friday at Cecil Park. The event is designed for children ages 12 and younger. Costumes are required. "Walk along the haunted illuminated trail to collect treats from area businesses. Stop at the concession stand for a snack and enjoy the Halloween music," organizers said on the township website.
- Canonsburg's Monster Mash Bash, which includes a haunted sticker hunt and costume party, will be held in the Luksis Lot next to the borough building Saturday morning. Festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. Awards will be given for costumes in various age categories. The "Spooky Sticker Search" will be held from noon to 1 p.m., with costume judging from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the "Monster Mash Bash" dancing to continue through 2:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the dance and costume judging will be in council chambers.
- Mercante Brothers Market, 604 West McMurray Road, is sponsoring The Great Pumpkin Bash from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday. Free apple cider and cookies will be served around the outdoor fireplace and patio to children 12 years and younger. Those in costume will receive a special treat.
- This one might be more for you adult enthusiasts: The seventh annual Jack-O-Lantern Jog 5K Race/1 Mile Stroll, which benefits the Community Scholarship Foundation of Canon-McMillan, is slated for 9 a.m. Saturday at Central Van & Storage, 595 Meadowlands Blvd., Meadowlands, PA.
