Obituary: Charles Tenney Sr., Former Welder

Charles A. Tenney Sr., 68, of Washington, formerly of Canonsburg, died surrounded by his family Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 in Kindred Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Oct. 31, 1944 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Denver and Geneva Stewart Tenney.

Charles graduated from Waynesburg High School and then from welding school. He had worked as a welder in the shipyards. He spent most of his life in the Canonsburg/Washington area.

Surviving are one son, Charles Tenney Jr., of Canonsburg, one daughter, Nicole Tenney of Canonsburg, two brothers, Artista “Art” Tenney of Washington and Fred Stewart (Donna) of Washington, one sister, Candy Cheeks (Richard) of Waynesburg.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Sollon Funeral Home in Canonsburg.
