Obituary: Julia Kathryn Tonsetic, of Canonsburg

Julia Kathryn Balog Tonsetic, 93, of Canonsburg, died peacefully in her home Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 after a lengthy illness under the care of hospice.

She was born Dec. 17, 1918 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Simon Balog.

She was a former member of Saint Patrick Church and had worked at Gaylord’s in the hardware department, at K-Mart and was a homemaker.

Surviving are one daughter, Cecilia Tonsetic of Canonsburg, one brother, Julius Balog of Canonsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Tonsetic Jr., one son, David Alan Tonsetic, seven sisters and three brothers.

Julia’s request was honored by having no public viewing. Private services were Saturday at Sollon Funeral Home, located at 30 E. College St. in Canonsburg. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery.
