The Meadows to Briefly Suspend Operations for Electrical Upgrade Work

Repairs from a recent power surge that closed the facility will be completed Thursday.

Representatives from announced the entertainment facility will temporarily suspend operations early Thursday—until 5 a.m. 

The brief closure is necessary for workers to make repairs to the electrical components within the facility

Per Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations, no gaming activity may occur while surveillance systems are inactive.

Therefore, gaming will be suspended at 12:30 a.m. Thursday and resume—per PGCB approval—by 5 a.m.

“Last Friday’s power surge produced an unfortunate inconvenience on our guests—and for that we apologize,” said Sean Sullivan, vice president and general manager. “We have scheduled these repairs to minimize additional impacts on our guests, who have been extremely patient and understanding.”

The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will be in full operation by Thursday morning.
