Woman Charged With DUI in Cecil

A Library woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after Cecil Township police noted her vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph portion of Millers Run Road during the wee hours of the morning Saturday.

Police said the vehicle of Nicole Lynn Balcer, 22,  was also weaving to and fro as she was driving on Miller Run Road around 4:35 a.m. Saturday.

When stopped, police said they detected an odor of alcohol emanating from Balcer, who officers said also had glassy, bloodshot eyes.

According to police, Balcer admitted to officers that she had consumed two alcoholic beverages that evening.

Field sobriety tests showed signs of intoxication, officers said, and that's when Balcer was placed under arrest and taken to the Cecil Township Police Department for a breath test.

That breath test indicated that Balcer had a blood-alcohol content of .114 percent, police said—which is more than the legal limit.

Driving under the influence charges will proceed by summons, police said.
