Democrat Rich Fitzgerald easily dispatched Republican challenger D. Raja by a 62-37 margin of victory. The race was never close as Fitzgerald dominated in Democratic strongholds on his way to replace outgoing county Chief Executive Dan Onorato. . 

The Chartiers Valley School Board will have four new faces when it begins next year. Robert Kearney, Sandy Zeleznik, Jamie Stevenson and Wendy Huntoon, all political newcomers sponsored by the CV Task Force for Academic Excellence, won seats on the school board. Incumbent Pam Poletti won a second term to the board. .

Two incumbent Bridgeville councilmen appear to have won re-election while a political newcomer looks to have captured a seat on Bridgeville Borough Council. .

Stacey A. Altman appears to have defeated current Commissioner Dennis "DJ" Brooks by a 53-47 margin. According to unofficial Allegheny County election results, Altman received 216 votes, beating Brooks by 24 tallies for Scott Township Ward 3. "I was overwhelmed with the support shown yesterday by my neighbors, friends and family," Altman said. "It was truly gratifying to see so many residents turn out to vote. Being new to the board, I plan to put forth my best effort to learn how thingswork and do the very best job I can."
