Caregiver Allegedly Bilked $11,000 From Elderly Woman in βDecliningβ Health
The caregiver of an elderly Collier Township woman in "declining" health allegedly stole her checkbook and credit cards last year and went on an $11,000 spending spree.

Collier police say the caregiver of an elderly woman in βdecliningβ health stole her checkbook and credit cards last year and went on an $11,000 spending spree.
Police filed charges against Beverly Seifert, 51, of Findlay Township, on Sept. 18 after investigating claims she stole money from the Collier Township woman.
Police said she was working as a caregiver for a Fairacre Court resident whose βhealth was decliningβ and used the checks and credit cards to spend $11,000 over the past year. Seifert allegedly began using the elderly womanβs account in late 2011, police said.

Seifert apparently was hired to clean for the elderly woman and take her to appointments.
Police charged her with 25 counts of forgery and one count each of access device fraud and theft.

Her preliminary hearing before District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet is scheduled for Nov. 19.
