Fire-Damaged Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant Plans Reopening
A Pittsburgh-area eatery that was heavily damaged in a recent fire has updated the restaurant's status.
PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh restaurant damaged by fire last week is vowing to reopen.
The owners of the Franklin Inn, a Mexican restaurant on Rochester Road in Franklin Park, are not certain what that reopening will occur.
"Not sure of the timeline yet. It looks like at least a couple of months," a post on the restaurant's Facebook page stated. "I will let you know when we get a better handle on it. We will miss celebrating the holidays together with you. Thank you for the well wishes, prayers, and kind comments.

"Many have asked how to help. Honestly, I don't even know yet because we are still in the assessing phases. Just you reaching out and offering kindness has been the best. Keep our staff in your prayers for the holidays. We were all looking forward to serving you.
No one was injured as a result of the fire. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
