CV Athletic Director Receives Big Award

 Chartiers Valley’s Frank Vulcano Jr. has been selected for the state PIAA District VII Athletic Director of the Year Award.           

Vulcano will be awarded the Region IV Athletic director of the year award on March 14 at Hershey.

Vulcano’s service consists of various activities, as he has been part of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Director’s Association and League from July 2007until June 2011, serving as president for two years, and vice president for two years. He was also a Board of Control Member for three years.

In addition, Mr. Vulcano is the Chairman of the WPIAL Wrestling Committee and has been the Tournament Director for all Sectional and District Tournaments for the past nine years, and has hosted 275 WPIAL playoff games.

Vulcano graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School before earning his degree from Cal U.
