CV Students Recognized for Athletic and Academic Accomplishments

Chartiers Valley recognized five students for various athletic and academic accomplishments this year.

The students were honored during the school board’s voting meeting last week.

They included:

• Senior Jennifer Rickens for receiving the Thiel Presidential Scholarship that offers a four-year full tuition award.

• Junior Noah Wilps for finishing second in the WPIAL wrestling championship and placing sixth in his weight class at the state tournament.

• Junior Himali Ranade for being named “best advocte” at the 2013 mock trial competition.

• Sophomore Drew Damich for winning the 200 and 500 freestyle in both the WPIAL and state swimming tournaments.

• Sophomore Maria Lohman for winning gold medals in both the WPIAL and state diving tournaments.
