Trucker charged after crash: Collier police have charged the trucker who crashed into a utility pole in Kirwan Heights last week, knocking out power to the area. Melvin Sanders, who is 48 and lives in South Carolina, faces a charge of criminal mischief and several traffic violations after police said he crashed into the pole on Feb. 23 and then left the scene while a resident tried to stop him. Power outages were reported around the area due to the crash.
Former employee arrested: A former employee at CBS Vending faces multiple charges after Collier police said he broke into the building and tried to take several items. Police said Joseph Rodriguez, 30, of Carnegie, was found inside the company on Packard Drive by a former coworker on Feb. 22. He was charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

Debit card missing: Someone getting their car serviced at Mr. Tire on Washington Pike told police his debit card was stolen from the vehicle on Feb. 20. Collier police did not say if they have any suspects.

Apartment maintenance man arrested: A Bridgeville Towers maintenance man faces multiple charges after borough police said he stole a resident’s prescription medication from her purse. Police said Harold Brown, 43, of Bridgeville, entered the woman’s apartment unit on Feb. 13 and took the drugs. Brown was charged with burglary, theft and trespassing, and turned over all of his work keys and security passes.
Pit bull running loose: A man was cited for not confining his dog after police said his pit bull was being aggressive and running loose around Bridgeville. Police charged Lavarr Carrol, 33, of Bridgeville, and said it’s been an ongoing problem with similar violations in the past. Police said they were called to the 700 block of Locust Street on Feb. 17 and the officer had to fend off the dog when it tried to attack him.

Suspected burglar arrested: Paul R. Gabig Jr., 36, of Scott, was charged with burglary and trespassing after township police said he was hiding inside a Raven Drive residence on Feb. 21.
DUI charge: Kristine Trotta, 38, of Scott, was charged with drunken driving after township police said they stopped her car along Greentree Road on Feb. 25.
Man found in street: Scott A. Scherrer, 42, of Scott, was charged with public drunkenness after township police said they found him laying in the middle of Finley Avenue on Feb. 25. Scherrer had facial abrasions from the fall and was treated at the scene by medics.
Theft charges: Scott Township police said they charged Heidi Hunt, 23, of Imperial, with theft, receiving stolen property and theft of services on Feb. 26.
