Route 50 in Bridgeville Closing Tuesday Night
The main road through the business district will be closed in both directions overnight while construction crews start the second phase of the streetscape project.

The second phase of is beginning Tuesday night, meaning half of the work to rebuild the sidewalks is done.
Unfortunately, it also means another six weeks of construction on the other side of the sidewalks in the heavily-traveled business district along Washington Avenue.
Route 50 in will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday while construction crews remove painted lines and install temporary markings along the roadway.

That will allow construction crews to work their way along the roadway replacing the bulging and uneven sidewalks.
and forced some lane closures so crews could work safely. The entire project, which should be finished by early August, will replace sidewalks and upgrade electrical outlets from Hickman Street to Bower Hill Road.

The borough had hoped it could have the closure over the weekend before the community event, but crews were not able to complete the work in time.
Motorist should detour around the construction area by either turning onto Hickman Street if coming from South Fayette or Murray Avenue if coming from Bower Hill Road.
