Scott Man Charged With Date Rape

Two women are accusing a Scott Township man of drugging their drinks on separate occasions last year before taking them back to his Greentree Road home and raping them.

on Tuesday charged 36-year-old Aaron Duran with four felony counts of rape and two counts of statutory sexual assault after a lengthy investigation into the allegations.

A 34-year-old woman told investigators she went out with friends on June 30, 2011, and ran into Duran while at the Club Erotica strip club in McKees Rocks. She said she recognized Duran because they went to Chartiers Valley High School together, and she ordered a rum and Coke.

She left her drink briefly and came back to the table where she was sitting with Duran. But about 15 minutes later, she began feeling groggy ­and started blacking out, according to a criminal complaint filed by Scott Township police.

Police said Duran took her out of the strip club and then drove the woman in her vehicle back to his home. Police said he then raped her while she was unconscious, although she awoke at one point and told police she saw him on top of her.

She awoke the next morning and immediately left his home despite still feeling ill, police said. When she came home, she went to sleep and told no one of what happened, according to the complaint.

It wasn’t until February when she saw another woman post a comment about a similar situation on Duran’s Facebook page. She said that post made her want to come forward to investigators on Feb. 27 and tell her story.

A lengthy post by Duran could be seen on his Facebook page about the situation, but he apparently deleted his account Wednesday night.

Scott police had already been investigating Duran from an incident in September in which a 19-year-old Moon Township woman claimed he drugged her and raped her. The woman said she and her friend met Duran at a Station Square bar on Sept. 16 where she claimed to drink only Sprite, although a friend said she also had a shot of alcohol.

The alleged victim remembers dancing at the club before waking up with Duran assaulting her, according to the criminal complaint. She said she yelled at him and gathered her clothes and left. Police said she went to the hospital the next day and investigators were alerted to the situation.

They searched Duran’s home on Sept. 19 and interviewed him about the allegation. He told officers that the sex was consensual and that the woman wasn’t unconscious, according to the criminal complaint.

Duran was arraigned by on Wednesday and taken to Allegheny County Jail. He was released on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before Zyra on March 15 for his preliminary hearing.
