Audit Finds Former Cranberry Superintendent's Use of Funds "Questionable"

Maria Pappas, who served from spring 2010 till fall 2013, may have used taxpayer funds inappropriately and taken undue vacation days.

Former school superintendent Maria Pappas is suspected of “questionable use of taxpayers’ funds,” according to a September report. Her use of more than $20,000 is now being discussed by the school board.

Pappas was superintendent of the Cranberry Area School District, in northwestern Pennsylvania, from spring 2010 until fall 2013. She retired Nov. 25 during a School Board meeting.
