NFL Legend, Pittsburgh Radio Icons Open New Cranberry Eatery

A former NFL star and a pair of Pittsburgh radio veterans have debuted a new restaurant in Cranberry.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — After launching a food truck operation last year, a trio of Pittsburgh celebrities have opened a bricks and mortar hot dog shop in Cranberry.

Yinzer Dogs has opened on MacKenzie Way, two doors down from the Milkshake Factory and across from the Lemieux Center.

The ownership group includes Pittsburgh native Dan Marino, a former star for the Miami Dolphins and an NFL Hall of Fame member; KDKA-AM morning show host Larry Richert; and comedian Jim Krenn, best known as being the former morning show co-host on WDVE-FM.

The eatery's website describes its menu thusly: "From our famous Yinzer Dogs and pierogi bites to fresh-cut fries and Babushka Mama’s haluski, our menu is packed with hometown comfort and
Steel City pride."

Yinzer Dogs also plans to open a second location early next year in the Strip District, at Penn and 18th avenues. Krenn grew up in the Strip District.

Yinzer Dogs also plans a spot in Oakland, where Marino grew up and starred at Central Catholic High School and the University of Pittsburgh before going onto stardom with the Dolphins.

The food truck that launched the restaurant remains in operation.
