Cranberry Gets $2.8 Million For MSA Thruway
The project should relieve traffic congestion along Route 228.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - The township is receiving a $2.8 million state grant to help fund development of the MSA Thruway that one day will link the Cranberry Springs development and the Cranberry Woods Business Park.
The $14.9 million project includes construction of a 150-foot underpass that will link the business park and Cranberry Springs. The thruway will provide alternative access to those developments for vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles and should reduce traffic congestion in the Route 228 corridor.
State officials believe the project will help create more than 2,300 permanent full-time jobs and more than 4,000 temporary construction jobs.

“The MSA Thruway project is a critical transportation component of a large scale economic development project that has created over 7,000 jobs in Cranberry Woods,” township supervisor chairman Dick Hadley said in a release. “The thruway will continue creating additional jobs in neighboring Cranberry Springs.
