Cranberry Getting State Money For Route 19 Signal Improvements
A state grant should help improve traffic flow on heavily congested Route 19.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — The township is one of 20 municipalities that will get a share of $5 million in state funding to install and maintain traffic signal technologies and increase vehicular mobility.
Cranberry is receiving $34,650 for upgraded signal controllers along Route 19 as part of a PennDOT program to help pay for such improvements. The program reimburses communities for updates to traffic signal systems.
“The safety improvements supported by the traffic signal technologies grant program not only help municipalities relieve congestion and traffic flow, they help Pennsylvanians move safely and efficiently,” Gov. Tom Wolf said in a statement announcing the grants.
