Cranberry To Host Penguins Preseason Game

The Sept. 24 game between the Penguins and St. Louis Blues will be held at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - Cranberry will host a nationally televised NHL preseason game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues next month at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

The game originally was to be played at the Rostraver Ice Garden after Belle Vernon was named the winner of Kraft Hockeyville USA 2017 as the country’s most passionate hockey community. But Kraft Hockeyville USA partners determined the ice garden was not equipped to host an NHL preseason game.

The September 24 game between the Pens and Blues will begin at 8 p.m. and be nationally televised on NBCSN. The majority of the tickets will go to members of the Belle Vernon Community and Rostraver Ice Garden youth hockey players. The ice garden also will receive $150,000 in arena upgrades as part of its Kraft Hockeyville USA prize.
