Cranberry PA Turnpike Ramp Closure, Detour Imminent
Find out here when the Cranberry interchange ramp to the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be shut down.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — There will be an upcoming ramp closures for travelers who enter the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Cranberry interchange (Exit 28) from I-79 northbound.
As part of an ongoing repair and maintenance project at the Cranberry Interchange, the ramp leading from I-79 North to the turnpike will be closed during the following times:
- April 14, 2025, 5 a.m. to April 18, 2025, 5 a.m.
- April 21, 2025, 5 a.m. to April 25, 2025, 5 a.m.
- April 28, 2025, 5 a.m. to May 2, 2025, 5 a.m.
- May 5, 2025, 5 a.m. to May 8, 2025, 5 a.m.
Travelers wishing to enter the turnpike from I-79 northbound take the following detour:

- Continue on I-79 North 0.7 miles, take Route 228 West (Cranberry/Mars)
- Follow signs for PA Route 228 West (Cranberry), left onto Route 228
- 0.2 miles to I-79 South (Pittsburgh) ramp
- Follow signs for I-76/PA Turnpike (Youngstown, OH/Harrisburg)
All other ramps will remain open.
The Cranberry interchange project is scheduled to be completed in October.
