Cranberry's Rowan Elementary School Gets New Principal

The Seneca Valley School District has named a permanent replacement at Rowan Elementary School for the retired Nannette Farmar.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Seneca Valley School District directors have appointed Tina Wentz as the new principal of Rowan Elementary School. She replaces Nannette Farmar, who retired.

Wentz has been serving as the acting principal at Rowan since August.

“It is an honor to be selected as principal of Rowan Elementary School and to be entrusted to lead a school with such a strong commitment to academic achievement and holistic student development,” Wentz said.

“I am excited to continue working with the dedicated staff, outstanding students and supportive families that make up the Rowan community. Together, I am confident that we will continue to build on previous successes and explore new opportunities for growth and innovation.”

Wentz has worked in the Seneca Valley School District for nearly nine years. She served as the assistant principal of Connoquenessing Valley Elementary (CVE) for seven years and one year as the acting principal. Wentz also was an assistant principal of Indian Head Elementary School in Maryland for four years.

Wentz has a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in education in administration from California University of Pennsylvania. She earned her doctorate in leadership and administration from Point Park University.
