Former Chief Of U.S. Naval Operations To Speak At Cranberry School
Retired U.S. Navy Admiral Jonathan Greenert will address students at Ehrman Crest Elementary-Middle School.

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — Retired U.S. Navy Admiral Jonathan Greenert, former chief of naval operations, will speak speaking with Seneca Valley elementary and middle school students Friday about his career as the 30th Chief of the U.S. Navy.
The visit will take place at Ehrman Crest Elementary-Middle School at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
A Butler native, Greenert has a distinguished 40-year career in the U.S. Navy. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, Greenert is a recipient of various personal and campaign awards, including the Distinguished Service Medal (six awards), Defense Superior Service Medal, and Legion of Merit (four awards). In 1992, he received the Vice Admiral Stockdale Award for inspirational leadership.

He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1975 and completed studies in nuclear power for service as a submarine officer.
His career as a submariner included assignments aboard USS Flying Fish, USS Tautog, Submarine NR-1 and USS Michigan, culminating in command of USS Honolulu from March 1991 to July 1993.
