Seneca Valley Bolsters Security After Threats
The Seneca Valley School District has an increased police presence in its schools today.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA — There is an increased police presence at the Seneca Valley School District's secondary campus today after threats were made against the schools over the weekend.
The threats, most of which surfaced on Snapchat, were vague, Superintendent Tracy Vitale said in a letter to the community posted on the district website. Law enforcement officials have deemed the threats to be non-credible.
"As you may be aware, other school districts in our county and across Western Pennsylvania have very recently encountered similar social media threats." Vitale stated. "Our investigation has confirmed that one of the reports we received is connected to those incidents."

Vitale said the district and law enforcement will fully prosecute any individual found to be a part of any threat now or in the future. She urged anyone with pertinent information that would help the administration or law enforcement in such situations to directly contact Seneca Valley or the police.
