Seneca Valley Senior Hosting Blood Drive for Eagle Scout Project
Public Encouraged to Help Him Reach Goal of 75 Donations

MCCANDLESS - Noah Reynolds wanted to put together a meaningful Eagle Scout project that would benefit his community, and decided on one that would honor his late grandmother as well as save lives and benefit his school.
Reynolds, a rising senior at Seneca Valley High School, is hosting a community blood drive Friday Aug. 24 at Central Blood Bank’s North Hills donor center, 9365 McKnight Road in McCandless, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Reynolds is a member of Troop 403 in Cranberry Township and has been a Boy Scout for 11 years. When it came time to choose an Eagle Scout project, he searched for something other than the typical construction project.

“I donated blood a couple times at school. I really enjoyed the process; I really enjoyed the people. Last March, my grandmother passed from multiple myeloma (a cancer of the bone marrow that affects plasma cells),” he said.
“I had just given blood earlier in the week when I sat down to think about a project, so I thought ‘why not a blood drive?’ I can focus my leadership efforts on the advertising to get donors and it all culminates with the drive.”
