Dormont Park To Get Major Renovations

DORMONT, PA — The National Parks Services has awarded $685,000 to the borough to upgrade Dormont Park. The improvements will include new pedestrian walkways, parking areas, and storm water management, installing play equipment and landscaping.
The grant announcement was made by U.S. Rep. Chris Deluzio, who secured the money.
“Every community should have a safe place to get together and relax with neighbors, and this funding will help deliver that for Dormont,” he said. "I’m looking forward to seeing the brand-new Dormont Park once this project is done."

Said Dormont Council President Jennifer Mazzocco: "This project is important to our entire community and having these funds awarded to the borough moves us even closer to celebrating a new playground and all the amenities that come with this investment in our park."
The grant was awarded to the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, which will coordinate directly with Dormont on the project. Funding came through the Land and Water Conservation Fund,which helps to improve outdoor recreation spaces throughout the nation./p>
