
Two local men wanted by Pittsburgh police for committing burglaries in the area were arrested late last week.
Dormont police arrested William Flaherty, 35, of Dormont on Thursday for an Oct. 13 burglary at a home in the 1100 block of Peermont Avenue. Pittsburgh police also arrested Jason Taylor, 30, last week. Police said Taylor has a Mt. Lebanon address, but had been staying with a friend in Beechview.
Pittsburgh police issued warrants for both men on Oct. 17 in connection with a robbery that occurred in the Banksville neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

Dormont police charged Taylor with burglary and theft, and charged Flaherty with conspiracy for the Oct. 13 incident. Pittsburgh police charged Taylor with burglary and theft, and charged Flaherty with receiving stolen property for an incident that occurred in September.
Both men are in Allegheny County Jail. Dormont police also have issued a warrant for Sara Bigos, 24, of Beechview in connection with the incidents.

Oct. 13
A minor car accident at Dormont Stadium around 7 p.m. resulted in a DUI arrest. According to Dormont police, Stephen Smith, 29, of Beechview was charged with driving under the influence after he hit another car while driving his SUV near the stadium. Two passengers in the car also were charged with public drunkenness. The names of those individuals were not immediately available.
Oct. 17
Dormont police are investigating a theft at CVS Pharmacy on West Liberty Avenue.
