Central Bucks Choir Competing In B101's Christmas Choir Competition
Tamanend Middle will compete on Wednesday in the K-8 semifinals. Titus Elementary competed on Monday, but won't be advancing to the finals.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Tamanend Middle School's 8th Grade Choir will compete in the semifinal round of the B101 Christmas Choir competition on Wednesday, when public voting could be the key to advancing the Central Bucks musicians to the finals on Thursday.
Two schools in the Central Bucks School District made it to the K-8 semifinalists in the B101 Christmas Choir Competition - Tamanend Middle and the Titus Tigers from Titus Elementary School.
Titus competed in the first round of the semifinals on Monday, performing "Twas the Night Before Christmas." They faced choirs from Clementon Elementary School and Holy Innocents Catholic School. On Tuesday morning, the station announced that Holy Innocents would be advancing to the K-8 finals on Thursday.

The second round of the semi-finals took place on Tuesday as Germantown Academy, Holy Child School at Rosemont and Notre Dame De Lourdes competed for a chance to advance to the finals.
On Wednesday during the 7 a.m. hour, tune to B101 to hear the Tamanend Middle School's 8th Grade Chorus from Warrington performing "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas." They will be competing against West Deptford Middle School's WDMS Eagletones and the Carl Sandburg Middle School's Soundwaves Choir. You can hear the choirs again at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Open public voting on the B101 website will begin after all three choirs are announced during the 7 a.m. hour. Voting will then continue throughout the day until 9 p.m. There is no limit on the number of votes per listener.
The winners from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday semifinals will then advance to the finals on Thursday.
The K-8 Division winner will be announced on Friday, Dec. 5, in the 7 a.m. hour. The 9-12 semifinalists in the 9-12 Division, sponsored by Verizon, will also be announced on air after the K-8 Division winner is revealed.
First-place winners in both the K-8 division and the high school division will have their choir's song featured on B101 throughout the holiday season and the school's music program will win a cash prize of $5,000. In addition, the choirs will be invited to perform their winning song during the Philly Pops: A Philly Holiday Spectacular on Sunday, Dec. 14.
The schools will also receive tickets to enjoy the show before and after their performances. The choirs will also be recognized at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra - The Ghosts of Christmas Eve concert on Dec. 21.
Second-place winners in each division will receive a $2,000 cash prize and third prize winners receive a $1,000 cash prize - all to benefit their school's music programs.
