2021 Bucks Co. Poet Laureate Has Been Named

Nicole Steinberg was named the 2021 Bucks County Poet Laureate by Bucks County Community College.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County Community College has named Nicole Steinberg of Newtown as the 2021 Bucks County Poet Laureate.

A published poet, Steinberg was named Bucks County Poet Laureate for the contest's 45th annual celebration. She works as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia.

Steinberg is the author of two books of poetry: 'Glass Actress' and 'Getting Lucky'. She is also the author of chapbooks 'Fat Dreams' and 'Clever Little Gang', and the winner of the 4X4 Furniture Press Chapbook Award in 2014. She is also a book editor.

Much of her work has been published or reviewed by the New York Times, Newsweek, Flavorwire, Bitch, and Hyperallergic. She is also serves on the board of the American Poetry Foundation.

Steinberg will be honored with a poetry reading and reception on Sunday, Nov. 14, in Tyler 142 at the college's Newtown campus at 1 p.m. Admission and parking for the event are free, and the reading will also be broadcast via Zoom for those who can not attend.

The Bucks County Poet Laureate program is the longest-running program of its kind in the state. The college hosts it as a part of keeping the cultural heritage of the area in tact for all generations.
