4 Cited For Urinating In Street, Public Drunkenness In Doylestown: PD

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department responded to a number of incidents in March.

Tuesday, March 1

  • A 48-year-old Furlong man was charged with theft after someone told police he had pumped gas on N. Main Street and then told the attendant to bill it to an account. The owner then discovered that there was no account and the person did not work for the company he claimed was to be billed for the purchase. The attendant had written down the license plate, which police traced to the man. The owner of the gas station made contact with the man and gave him several chances to return and pay for the gas. Then a criminal complaint was filed.
  • A 38-year-old Doylestown man was charged with public drunkenness after police responded to a report of an intoxicated man refusing to leave a business. Police arrived to find he could not stand without losing his balance and smelled strongly of alcohol. A citation was issued.

  • Someone broke both side view mirrors on a vehicle parked on Hamilton Street in Chalfont.

  • A 55-year-old Chalfont woman was arrested on a driving under the influence charge after police stopped her when they saw her driving on a flat tire that was smoking. She had trouble locating her documents, was slurring her speech, and struggled to formulate a sentence. After failed field sobriety tests, she was taken into custody and brought to Doylestown Hospital for legal blood draw. A criminal complaint has been filed.

Friday, March 4

  • A 29-year-old North Wales man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police saw his car parked along the curb on E. Oakland Avenue facing the wrong way on a one-way street. While speaking with him, police saw drug paraphernalia in plain sight and took him into custody. A criminal complaint was filed.
  • An unknown group of juveniles were seen damaging a home's garage door on surveillance footage from the Francis Meyers Road residence.

Saturday, March 5

  • A 26-year-old Quakertown man was charged with violating a protection from abuse order in New Britain's town center after he approached someone in a shopping center by pulling in next to them, yelling, and following them for a short distance when they tried to leave. He was taken into custody and arraigned with bail set at 10 percent of $10,000 before being sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility. A criminal complaint was filed.
  • Someone stole the catalytic converter from a car parked in a lot on Spruce Street.

Sunday, March 6

  • A 26-year-old Doylestown woman was charged with public drunkenness when police saw her slumped over on the sidewalk on N. Main Street. She was unable to stand up and proceeded to vomit several times. Central Bucks EMS was called to evaluate her and bring her to the hospital. A citation was filed.

Tuesday, March 8

  • Someone threw eggs on the playground structures on Wood Street.

Thursday, March 10

  • A 35-year-old New Britain man was charged with drug possession when police were called to assist with a warrant out of Montgomery County. On Pawnee Road, he was searched and found to possess controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. A criminal complaint was filed.
  • A 69-year-old New Britain man was charged with assault on Carousel Circle after police were called to a domestic disturbance. A verbal argument escalated and he struck someone in the face. He was taken into custody, arraigned with bail set at 10 percent of $5,000 with conditions, and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility. A criminal complaint was filed.
  • A 35-year-old Harleysville man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped on E. Butler Avenue. He was found to be driving an unregistered car without a license, and during the stop police discovered an active warrant. He was sweaty and shaky and admitted to having drug paraphernalia in the car. Police took him into custody and executed a search warrant on the car. A criminal complaint has been filed.

Saturday, March 12

  • A 22-year-old Perkasie man was charged with driving under the influence on S. Main Street after police stopped his car for traveling at night with no lights. He admitted to drinking alcohol, had difficulty producing his identification, presented with blood shot glassy eyes, and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed in custody and taken to Doylestown Hospital for legal blood draw. A criminal complaint has been filed.
  • A 22-year-old Doylestown man was cited for public drunkenness on Hohlbain's Alley after police were called for a man lying in the street who appeared highly intoxicated. Police found him on the ground yelling for someone to help him up. A citation was issued.

Sunday, March 13

  • A 31-year-old Chalfont man was cited for public drunkenness after police found him staggering in the middle of the street. He had slurred speech and bloodshot glassy eyes and could not keep his balance. Police called EMS to take him to Doylestown Hospital for evaluation. A citation was issued.
  • A 29-year-old Doylestown man was cited for public drunkenness on Harvey Avenue after police saw him needing to be held up by another person and falling several times. Once police approached him they noticed his glasses were broken and his face was full of abrasions and cuts. Police called EMS and he was taken to the hospital for evaluation. A citation was issued.

Wednesday, March 16

  • Someone stole a license plate off of a car on Ferris Lane in New Britain.

Friday, March 18

  • A 55-year-old Furlong woman was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Green Street. She had a strong odor of alcohol and bloodshot glassy eyes, was unsteady on her feet, and failed field sobriety tests. She was taken into custody and taken to Doylestown Hospital for legal blood draw. A criminal complaint was filed.
  • A 26-year-old Hatfield man was cited for disorderly conduct on N. Main Street after police saw him urinating in public. A citation was issued.
  • A 24-year-old Bensalem man was charged with auto theft and drug possession after police were called for a disabled vehicle on West Street. The man told police the car did not belong to him and he did not have a valid licenses. Police learned he was driving the vehicle without authorization from the owner. While he was in custody, police found him in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned with bail set at 10 percent of $15,000 and sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility. A criminal complaint was filed.
  • An underage person was cited for disorderly conduct on S. Main Street after police saw them urinating in public.
  • A 26-year-old man was cited for public drunkenness on W. State Street after police were called to an establishment for an intoxicated man. He had slurred speech, trouble standing on his own, and difficulty following directions. A citation was issued.

Wednesday, March 23

  • Someone took a drill out of a work van parked in a N. Main Street lot.
  • Someone stole the catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in the SEPTA Train Station on Clinton Street.

Saturday, March 26

  • A 21-year-old Chalfont man was cited for disorderly conduct after police saw him urinating on W. State Street. A citation was issued.
  • A 24-year-old Drexel Hill man was cited for ordinance violation after police found him asleep in his car in a S. Main Street parking lot. While speaking with him, they could smell marijuana. He admitted to having it in the vehicle.
  • A 19-year-old Chalfont man was cited for ordinance violation when police approached his car in a parking lot and smelled a strong odor of marijuana. He admitted to having marijuana in the car.

Sunday, March 27

  • A 23-year-old Doylestown man was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct on S. Main Street after police saw him stagger down the street and then begin to urinate in public. When approached by police, he ran and ignored commands to stop. When police caught up with him, he presented with slurred speech, bloodshot glassy eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. He was taken into custody and citations were issued.

Thursday, March 31

  • A 34-year-old Upper Black Eddy woman was arrested after police found her asleep in a car in a W. Butler Avenue parking lot. When police arrived, she was agitated and the officer noticed bloodshot eyes, an unsteady gait, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol. She was taken into custody and narcotics were found in her car. A criminal complaint was filed.
