5 Central Bucks Seniors Named U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidates
Each year, up to 161 students are named presidential scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Five Central Bucks School District seniors have been named candidates in the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Recognized and honored by the district and school board at its February meeting are Saurav Bharatam, Susan Suber, and James Wan from Central Bucks East High School; Benjamin Fievitz from Central Bucks South High School; and Kaiya Crowley from Central Bucks West High School.
Established in 1964 to recognize and honor some of the nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors, the U.S. Presidential Scholars program was extended in 1979 to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts. In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields.

Candidates will learn if they are semifinalists in the program in the spring with winners announced in June.
