Family Pets Perish In Early Morning House Fire In Plumstead
Firefighters arriving on the scene immediately began fire suppression, attacking the fire with hand lines.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Several family pets perished in a fire that broke out at a home early Sunday morning in the 5200 block of Roseberry Drive.
The fire, which was discovered in the kitchen, quickly spread throughout the structure, forcing the occupants to evacuate.
Plumsteadville Fire Chief 24 arrived and observed fire coming out of both sides of the home.

Due to the risk of fire to surrounding homes and extremely low temperatures, mutual aid was dispatched to assist.
Firefighters arriving on the scene immediately began fire suppression, attacking the fire with hand lines. They remained on the scene for an extended period, putting out hot spots and conducting overhaul operations.

“Unfortunately, several family pets were lost in the fire. Our thoughts go out to the affected family,” the fire company posted on Facebook.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were the Point Pleasant Vol. Fire Co., Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, Chalfont Fire Company, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company, Lingohocken Fire Company, and Midway Volunteer Fire Company.
