BUCKS COUNTY, PA - As November ends and December begins this weekend, the calendar is brimming with ways to celebrate the holiday season.

A farm in Lower Makefield is holding a holiday preview party on Saturday as Santa trades his sleigh for a tractor.

And not far away in Bristol Borough, the town will be lighting its tree Friday night followed on Saturday by a festive Christmas Parade.

Another great way to experience the season is with a tour of Fonthill Castle, one of Bucks County's more unique attractions, all decorated for the holiday season.

Holiday Kickoff Party At Charlann Farms

At Charlann Farms in Lower Makefield, Santa will trade his sleigh for a farm tractor. His arrival will highlight the farm's holiday kickoff party on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 586 Stony Hill Road in Lower Makefield. The day will include live music by Rainy Daze Band, the farm's popular Jump Pad, yard games, holiday-themed games, pony rides, face painting and more. Santa is scheduled to arrive by tractor around 12 p.m. and will be available for photos inside the event tent. Broad Street Brewing will be on site with adult beverages and Rooster & the Chick Food truck will be serving food. Read More.

Roxey Ballet Bringing "The Nutcracker" To The Stage

Roxey Ballet continues a beloved holiday tradition with six performances of Tchaikovsky's "The
Nutcracker" from Nov. 30 through Dec. 14 at Villa Victoria Theater in Ewing, New Jersey, just across the river from Bucks County. In a special treat, Santa and his jolly friends will make an appearance during the performance. The production is known as the most fun-filled and accessible children’s show in the region. Winter Wonderland Guided Tours At Fonthill Castle

Winter Wonderland guided tours are offered every weekend from now through Dec. 28 at historic Fonthill Castle. The tours showcase Henry Mercer’s home in Doylestown decked for the holidays while sharing the history of Mercer and the construction of this unique property. Fonthill Castle’s interior features Mercer’s renowned, handcrafted ceramic tiles designed at the height of the Arts and Crafts movement, and the castle serves as an early example of reinforced concrete architecture with forty-four rooms, two hundred windows, and eighteen fireplaces. Bristol Welcomes Season With Tree Lighting, Parade

Bristol Borough will usher in the holiday season on Thanksgiving weekend with an Old Fashioned Tree Lighting and town's Christmas Parade. The celebration begins on Friday, Nov 29 with an “It’s A Wonderful Life” Old Fashioned Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. at Mill and Radcliffe streets. Music will start at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Sugar Plums. The tree will be lit at 7:10 p.m. and Santa will appear sometime in between the music and the tree lighting. The festivities continue on Small Business Saturday, November 30 when the town's annual Christmas Parade steps off at 1 p.m. Read More.

Tour Oscar Hammerstein's Home in Doylestown

By popular demand, the Oscar Hammerstein House and Museum has increased the number of scheduled tours at Highland Farm to five times weekly in November and December: Fridays at 11 a.m., Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. From Thanksgiving on, visitors can enjoy crisp apple strudel and tea (“a drink with jam and bread”) or hot chocolate
from a “bright copper kettle.” Special Hammerstein Museum mementos will be available for purchase only by tour guests, including a Hammerstein Museum commemorative Mercer tile. Read More.
