BUCKS COUNTY, PA — This weekend brings the final two dazzling winter evenings of "Fire & Frost" to Peddler's Village in Lahaska. Don't miss the village's cool collection of ice sculptures, its dazzling fire artistry, music and a fun scavenger hunt.

The extended weekend also brings the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday with Day of Service events planned throughout the county. We've included two in our weekend roundup to consider.

"Fire & Frost" Features Dazzling Winter Evenings

Fire & Frost returns to Peddler's Village in Lahaska on Friday and Saturday evenings, Jan. 17 and 18. Set against the backdrop of the village’s historical “winter wonderland” setting, the outdoor festival will feature dozens of ice sculptures, fire artistry, a DJ spinning party music, and a family-friendly scavenger hunt. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 17 and Saturday, January 18, the final night of the holiday lights display featuring a million dazzling, colorful lights. Read More

"World Of Weather Weekend" To Explore Climate Regions

UPDATE: Sunday's event has been canceled due to the weather. Want to learn about the weather? Now you can for a whole weekend. A World Of Weather Weekend will explore three of the nation's climate regions on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 18 and 19 at the Churchville Nature Center. Families, adults, and children of all ages are invited to travel to Churchville to participate in the nature center’s hugely popular World of Weather Weekend. The indoor program will be held daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $6 per person at the door. Read More

"Disney Songs Live" At The Newtown Theatre

The Little Mermen, the ultimate Disney cover band, presents "Disney Songs Live” on Saturday, January 18 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the historic Newtown Theatre. The band’s repertoire covers all 82 years of the Disney canon, including favorites from The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Mary Poppins and Frozen. The group performs in full costume with band members dressed up as characters from the films. Hailed by BuzzFeed and Time Out New York as the premiere Disney cover experience, they’ve won praise from none other than Disney.com and Disney music composer Alan Menken himself. Read More

12th Annual MLK Teen And Peace Summit On Monday

With the federal holiday on Monday, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored at the 12th annual MLK Teen Peace and Social Justice Summit one day earlier. The summit honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. takes place at 4 p.m. Sunday at William Tennent High School at 333 Centennial Rd. The emcee for the afternoon will be author and international keynote speaker Harry Jones III. Read More

Helping Paws Day of Service In Lower Bucks Co.

The Women's Animal Center is holding its annual Helping Paws Day of Service on Monday. On Monday, America's oldest animal shelter's Mini Paws Club is inviting children from the ages of 7 to 12 to spend a morning of service visiting the shelter from 9 a.m. to Noon. Children will create enrichment toys and treats for the shelter pets waiting to be adopted into loving forever homes. Read More
