DOYLESTOWN, PA — Bucks County will celebrate the unofficial start of summer with a red, white and blue spring weekend with ceremonies and events throughout the county honoring the men and women who fought and died on the battlefields of history.

In addition to trips to the shore and to the mountains, carve out some time this weekend to remember those who made it all possible. Communities are planning parades and walking tours to celebrate and pay homage to the sacrifice.

Parades, Memorial Day Observances In Central Bucks

Memorial Day parades and services are planned throughout Bucks County this holiday weekend in Bucks County. From New Hope to Warrington and from Newtown to Doylestown, communities will pay tribute to the nation's fallen soldiers with most events planned on Memorial Day (Monday, May 26).

Jazz On The River, Ceremony At Soldiers' Graves

Washington Crossing Historic Park will mark the long Memorial Day weekend by honoring the soldiers - past and present - who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation and by hosting a free jazz concert on the river. Kick off the weekend with a free Jazz Concert on the Riverbank on Saturday, May 24. On Sunday, May 25 beginning at 1 p.m., Washington Crossing Historic Park will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony. The event will be held at The Revolutionary War Soldiers Gravesite behind the Thompson Neely House located at 1638 River Road, New Hope.

Vintage Base Ball Takes The Field On Memorial Day

Vintage base ball returns to Pickering Field at Jefferson and North Chancellor streets in Newtown, Bucks County on Memorial Day through the sponsorship of the Council Rock Newtown Athletic Association. The free step back in time begins an hour later this year at 1 p.m. with the posting of the colors by the American Legion Post 440 Color Guard and the singing of the National Anthem and God Bless America.

Sesame Place Kicks Off 45th Birthday Bash

Sesame Place will splash into summer with its 45th Birthday Beach Bash. The park is kicking off the unofficial start to summer with sunny, splashy fun beginning Saturday, with select water attractions opening for the 2025 season. This weekend the park also celebrates Memorial Day with a Patriotic Dine with Elmo & Friends dressed in their star-spangled best! To close out the weekend, guests can watch as the “C…is for Celebrate!” Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks light up the sky exclusively on Sunday, May 25, at 9pm. Prior to the fireworks display, guests can enjoy the ultimate dessert experience with the option of Sweet Treats packages. Dine and Sweet Treats packages require park admission, reservations, and additional fees.
