Acupuncturist Joins The Staff At Doylestown Veterinary Hospital

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Dr. Erik Blumberg has joined the staff at the Doylestown Veterinary Hospital & Holistic Pet Care, expanding the hospital’s expertise in integrative veterinary medicine and holistic pet care.
As a certified veterinary acupuncturist, Dr. Blumberg brings a unique perspective to conventional patient care and a deep commitment to helping pets live healthier, more comfortable lives.
Dr. Blumberg earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his certification in veterinary acupuncture through the Chi Institute. Dr. Blumberg graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in chemistry.

His professional interests include veterinary cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, and soft-tissue surgery. Dr. Blumberg also specializes in acupuncture for dogs and cats, particularly in cases of intervertebral disc disease, arthritis, and gastrointestinal issues such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
“Pain management — especially for senior pets—is very important to me,” said Dr. Blumberg. “I value combining traditional medicine with holistic tools like acupuncture to help improve mobility, ease discomfort, and enhance quality of life.”

Raised in White Plains, N.Y., and Chadds Ford, Dr. Blumberg lives in Chalfont with his wife, Victoria, and their two pets: Herbie, a spirited 1.5-year-old Dachshund, and Nala, a chatty 10-year-old Tuxedo cat. Outside the hospital, Dr. Blumberg enjoys a lifelong passion for dance — ranging from hip hop and tap to ballroom styles like waltz and cha cha — which he and Victoria often share together. When he’s not caring for patients, he also enjoys playing basketball regularly and bird watching.
