'Bag It': Doylestown Plans Special Event On Single-Use Plastics

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A special event is scheduled next month to educate Doylestown residents about reducing single-use plastics.
The March 10 event at the County Theater will include a screening of "Bag It," followed by a question and answer session.
Members of the Doylestown Borough Council and the Doylestown Borough Environmental Advisory Committee will be present. Doylestown Borough Mayor Ron Strouse is also expected to attend.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at the County Theater, 20 East State Street.
According to information from the borough, "Bag It," is a look at the impact plastics have on the planet's health, and the efforts to reduce their use.

The event will be followed with the Q&A and a recap of Doylestown Borough’s plastic reduction plans.
Over the summer, Doylestown Borough Council and the Doylestown Borough Environmental Advisory Council conducted a public survey on the issue.
The 13-question survey aimed to gauge support for a ban on the distribution of single-use plastic bags, straws and Styrofoam take-out containers by Doylestown Borough businesses.
More than a thousand responses from Doylestown business owners and residents were received and show strong support for a ban on the single-use plastic items, according to the survey results.
