Doylestown, Pennsylvania — Back-to-school season brings a mix of excitement and nerves — for students, parents and staff alike. Thankfully, Doylestown is home to everyday school heroes who help make the transition smoother and the school year a little brighter.
From teachers and tutors to bus drivers, cafeteria staff, crossing guards and more, these caring individuals bring steady support and positivity to our schools. To recognize their many contributions — big and small — Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to salute the unsung heroes of back-to-school.

Please describe why this individual is a hero at your school.
She is a teacher who goes above and beyond every day bringing new and fresh ideas into the classroom to inspire her children to enjoy reading and learning and new things every day. She has a way of teaching that keeps even the most difficult child with ADD or other issues clued in and participating in the plan of the day. She has advocated for all her students who need extra help over the years with a smile. She makes learning fun.

She’s my daughter
What should your community know about this person?
She is a quiet person who loves animals and being outside in nature. She started her college career on a Veterinary track then decided to switch to Education finishing her undergraduate degree at Temple University and her Master’s at Del Val University. She rode horses with Natalie Johnson stables for years helping with younger riders and serving as lead counselor at their summer camp. Amy sang in Youth choir as well as Lenape and West Chamber choirs along side ‘Pink’ and Justin Guerini. Singing is one of her passions. She has 2 sons and has lived in a 3 to 4 generation home for many years enjoying and learning from all of them. She and her oldest son spent some time hiking a small section of the Appalachian Trail this summer. Her goal is to try to do the whole trail someday.
