Bucks Co. Cafe To Celebrate Bastille Day This Weekend

The two-day weekend celebration will feature French-inspired baked goods and other offerings at the Buckingham Greene cafe.

BUCKINGHAM, PA — The Aurora Bistro - a French-inspired cafe at the Buckingham Greene Shopping Center on Route 202 - will celebrate Bastille Day this weekend.

During the two-day celebration from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, owner Dawn McDonald will be featuring French-inspired foods including pastries, croissant and French-inspired sandwiches, quiche specials, crepes, salads, and specialty coffees, including drip coffee, latte, cappuccino, mocha, iced latte, and lots more.

"We are giving a free sports bottle to the first 25 guests and there will be an opportunity to win a $50 gift card for brunch," said McDonald.

Bastille Day, also known as French National Day, marks the anniversary of the fall of the Bastille,
in Paris on July 14, 1789. Originally built as a medieval fortress, the Bastille eventually came to be used as a state prison.

The French-inspired cafe offers a variety of pastries including croissants, sweet and savory galettes, and assorted European-style cookies and desserts. For breakfast and brunch, the bistro serves classic French entrees such as Croque Monsieur, Brioche French toast, and quiches, along with daily specials featuring soup, salad, quiche, or sandwiches.

Aurora is also known for its coffee selection. Sourced from vendors committed to sustainable farming practices, the cafe's coffee beans are free from synthetic pesticides. Offerings include Au Lait and Espresso beverages served with dairy or plant-based milk alternatives. Additionally, the bistro serves an array of organic teas, including Chai and Chai Tea lattes.
