“Mama Hawk’s is honored to partner with Michener Art Museum, a cornerstone of Bucks County’s cultural scene,” said Liz Hawkins, founder of Mama Hawk’s Kitchen & Coffee. “We’re excited to bring our passion for great coffee and scratch-made food into this beautiful space, creating a menu that complements the Michener itself.”

Mama Hawks is Liz Hawkins from New Hope. She is the mother of four grown children, and six grandchildren. While her kids were still living at home and going to school in New Hope, their friends would often come over to sit in her retro, turquoise-painted kitchen, chat with Liz at the counter, and eat freshly baked treats. They gave her the name Mama Hawk, and it stuck.

Mama Hawk’s is known for smooth coffee with small-batch craft beans from Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters in Kansas City. Its flagship location at Peddler’s Village in Lahaska draws crowds with a reputation for single origin, blended coffee, and creative latte combinations.

The museum cafe location will offer a full menu of handcrafted coffee. Signature beverages inspired by the novels of James A. Michener, museum namesake and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, include lattes like Hawaiian Sunrise, Chesapeake Chai, and Alaskan Aurora.

Mama Hawk’s Cafe at the Michener will also serve a thoughtfully curated selection of locally sourced sandwiches and salads. Breakfast sandwiches are served on a bagel or cheddar bun. Best-selling panini options will rotate regularly, with some staples always on the menu like the Can’t Touch This Caprese or Don’t You Forget About Cheese. Favorite baked goods will include light and fluffy cinnamon buns, muffins, pink frosted sugar cookies, and chocolate chip cookies.

The welcoming space invites guests to enjoy the museum setting, with patio seating right in the Patricia D. Pfundt Sculpture Garden, which features a view of the contemporary, glass-enclosed Edgar N. Putman Event Pavilion juxtaposed against the old stone wall of the 1884 Bucks County Jail.
