Police In Bucks Co. Launch Labor Day Weekend Crackdown On Impaired Driving
"Our goal is to make sure every family in Bucks County can celebrate and get home safely," said District Attorney Jennifer Schorn.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Police departments from throughout Bucks County are teaming up with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office over the long Labor Day weekend to crackdown on impaired and dangerous driving.
"Our increased enforcement efforts are already underway and will continue through Sept. 1," said Schorn. "You will see more officers on the roads, conducting enhanced traffic enforcement and cracking down on all forms of impaired driving.
"Our goal is to make sure every family in Bucks County can celebrate and get home safely," said Schorn. "Our officers will be on patrol around the clock with zero tolerance for dangerous driving."

The message is clear, said Schorn in a video message to the community. "Drive sober or get pulled over."
In 2023, nearly 40 percent of all crash fatalities nationwide over the Labor Day weekend involved an alcohol-impaired driver.

But it isn't just about alcohol, said Schorn. "If you chose to use marijuana or other drugs and get behind the wheel, you're putting lives at risk. That's why we're also reminding you, 'Drive High,
Get A DUI.'
"So if you plan on celebrating please plan for a safe and sober ride home. Protect yourselves, your family and your friends. Please make the right choice and don't drive impaired."
