BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Corinne Sikora Wellness and Support Center in Buckingham Township is seeking much-needed help from local residents as it prepares to open its doors in November.

Corinne Sikora, a local educator who died in November 2020 after a battle with breast and brain cancer, dreamt of opening a free cancer resource center in Bucks County. That dream is set to become a reality in about three months, with the center taking over a 5,000-square-foot facility on Heritage Center Drive in the township.

The Corinne Sikora Center will welcome any Bucks County resident battling cancer and will offer free services to patients, including holistic and integrative services, nutrition classes, support groups, book clubs, acupuncture, and yoga and fitness classes.

The nonprofit center recently launched an online registry seeking more than 100 much-needed items through MyRegistry. Residents can search for the Corinne Sikora Wellness and Support Center on the MyRegistry website or app to find its list of requested items.

The center is asking for a wide range of donations, from trash cans and yoga mats to big-ticket items like kitchen appliances and an electric oncology massage chair. Requested donations range from $15 to $3,900.

“So many people have reached out asking how they can help,” said Keith Fenimore, a founding member of the Corinne Sikora Wellness and Support Center. “Through this registry, we have identified many of our current needs, and we hope the community appreciates the transparency as to how their donation dollars are being used.”

Nearly two dozen items valued at more than $1,500 were donated through the registry in its first week, Fenimore said, calling it “an amazing start.”

The nonprofit center is asking donors to buy items locally to support Bucks County businesses. All donations are tax-deductible.

Visit the Corinne Sikora Wellness and Support Center’s website for more information about the center and its donation registry.
