Bucks County Projects Awarded $7.5M In State Grant Funding
Several big-ticket projects in Bucks County municipalities have been awarded state grant funding from Pennsylvania.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Several big-ticket projects in Bucks County municipalities have been awarded state grant funding from Pennsylvania.
The $7.5 million in funding comes from the state's Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which supports economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects in the commonwealth.
Doylestown Hospital will receive $1 million for a new Women's Diagnostic Center, which will specialize in breast imaging and other medical imaging services. The project will relocate and expand its current diagnostic facility.

“The support of Gov. Wolf and Sen. Santarsiero is a tremendous boost to the transformative renovation and expansion of key priorities across Doylestown Health,” Jim Brexler, President and CEO of Doylestown Health, said in a news release. “We deeply appreciate the Commonwealth’s investment in our community health system."
New Hope Borough will receive $1,750,000 toward the construction of a five-level parking garage on borough-owned land adjacent to Delaware Canal Park and one block from Main Street. Pending state approval, the garage will be accessible from Route 202 and Route 179, provide 350 parking spaces and include a pedestrian bridge spanning the canal, connecting it directly to North Main Street.

The Bucks County Children's Museum received $250,000 for the purchase of 4 acre in Solebury Township to build a new 20,000 square foot facility with expanded exhibit gallery areas, sanitization stations, expanded public indoor and outdoor space and administrative offices.
The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center will receive $500,000 to purchase, restore and preserve Highland Farm in Doylestown and create a public museum and education center on the historic site. The three-story manor home will be restored and furnished with original artifacts from the Hammerstein occupancy period. The large three-story barn, built in 1900, will be repurposed to include exhibition and classroom space and a welcome center.
Morrisville Borough will receive $500,000 for the Patriots Park at Historic Summerseat project.
The Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks received $1,000,000 for the remediation and redevelopment of a 13-acre vacant Brownfield site in Morrisville Borough so the property can be reused for commercial use. The agency received an additional $1 million to build a new connector road from Street Road to "as far west as possible," according to the state. The new road will include bike, parking and travel lanes, and a landscaped median.
Bristol Township Recycling received $1 million to build a new 45,000 square foot facility for construction and demolition disposal for recycling.
Bristol Borough received $1 million for planned enhancements to the Waterfront Park, including removing and installing a new stormwater system to alleviate flooding issues, replacinthe parking lot, installing new lighting and landscaping and new restroom facilities.
AQ Saint Katharine Drexel, LP was awarded $1,000,000 to redevelop the former St. Katharine Drexel Shrine, located on a 44-acre site in Bensalem Township. It will be redeveloped into a multi-use campus featuring town homes, independent living facilities, age-restricted apartments, assisted living and memory care facilities, medical office space and community offices and facilities. The developer will look to use the funds to assist with the preservation of the historic "Mother House," a former covenant constructed in 1892 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It will be used as a multi-purpose building that will include office space and various community facilities.
