​Central Bucks COO Hired By North Penn School District

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Tara Houser, the Chief Operating Officer of the Central Bucks School District for the past three years, is taking a new job with the North Penn School District.

At its January meeting, the North Penn School Board voted unanimously to hire Houser as its new Chief Financial Officer. She will earn $240,000 a year at North Penn, $60,000 more than she's making at Central Bucks.

Houser was hired by Central Bucks three years ago. Her five-year contract with the district was through 2027.

Most recently, Houser has been the face of the district's "Update the Eight," a major elementary school renovation initiative expected to be finalized in May when the school board votes on the future of Kutz, Doyle and Linden elementary schools.

On Dec. 2, 2024, the board approved the district moving forward with addressing the capital needs at five of the eight elementary schools (Barclay, Buckingham, Gayman, Titus, and Warwick) at an amount of $235 million.

Houser will join North Penn with decades of experience. In addition to Central Bucks, Houser has worked as the Director of Business Services and Business Administrator for the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.

“I am very excited to join the North Penn School District at this time of exciting growth,” said Houser. “My goal as CFO is to provide all district stakeholders with clarity and transparency on the financial health and activity of the district along with actively working to provide the support services at the level of excellence this community is accustomed to.”

Houser will begin her new job with the North Penn School District in June.
