Central Bucks Pushes School Start Date Back To Sept. 8

Central Bucks has pushed back its school start date. Students will now resume instruction the Tuesday after Labor Day.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School District has pushed back the start of school from Aug. 31 to Sept. 8. The decision to push back the start date, which was made Tuesday by the school board, will allow for additional preparation and staff development time.

Students will now resume school the Tuesday after Labor Day.

The district administration said it now plans to revisit the calendar and present any additional changes to the board for review in August.

"This change will establish a specific date when families may request a change to their program enrollment selection," Superintendent John Kopicki said in a Wednesday update to the school community.

Last week, Central Bucks approved health and safety plan that offers three options for district families. There is a traditional five-day for the elementary level only, plus a hybrid and all-online option for all grade levels.
