Central Bucks School Board Outlines Next Steps After Firing Superintendent
The school board said it's committed to identifying and appointing a permanent superintendent to oversee the administration of the district.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks School Board is moving forward following its decision to terminate Superintendent Steven Yanni at Thursday night's school board meeting over his handling of student abuse allegations at Jamison Elementary School.
"The board and district are committed to identifying and appointing a permanent superintendent who will build upon the district’s strengths, address challenges with vision and resolve, and continue our mission of educational excellence, always with student safety at the forefront," the board said in comments posted on the district's website. "The selection process will include opportunities for community input and will be guided by transparency, collaboration, and thoughtful deliberation grounded in the district's values."
The board continues, "We are confident our interim administration will continue to maintain stability with a focus on student success and well-being, and that day-to-day operations and educational programs will continue without disruption.

"We also appreciate every one of our teachers and staff members for their hard work and dedication to students during this time, and always," the board said. "We will keep our community informed when the official search begins and throughout each step in the process. We appreciate your continued support and patience."
Yanni came to Central Bucks in 2024 from the Lower Merion School District, where he was superintendent. This week, the public learned that Yanni is the new CEO at the Northwood Academy, a K-8 charter school in Northeast Philadelphia.
