Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Daniel Ockey: 5 years
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Daniel Ockey: When my wife Kay and I were first married, we struggled significantly with money. I had $20,000 of consumer debt, and we were on track to double that in 6 months. We ended up realizing that we needed to change, or life was going to be miserable. We read every personal finance book we could get our hands on, interviewed millionaires, read financial blogs, and ultimately spent over 1000 hours learning about personal finance. Through that process, we discovered and developed personal finance systems, and we paid off our $20000 of debt as college students in 6 months. Since then, we've helped 1400+ individuals and families implement the same systems and make real financial progress.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Daniel Ockey: You don't need a budget. You need a financial system. A financial system is focused on progress and growth. A budget is typically just focused on making sure you don't overspend.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Daniel Ockey: Watching clients succeed. Every day we get news of clients paying off debt, saving emergency funds, and resolving money conflicts in their relationships. It's incredibly satisfying.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Daniel Ockey: We work with clients 1on1. Instead of handing clients a course and hoping they can figure it out, each client gets a personal financial coach to help guide and customize our system to them. This way, we can also guarantee results.
