Construction Begins For County Theater Expansion Project
The construction project to expand the County Theater is officially underway. There will be parking restrictions in the area.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The construction project to expand the County Theater is officially underway.
Residents can expect to see construction fencing in place in front of the theater, as well as the former Poor Richards site. The project will temporarily eliminate all parking spots in the block, according to the theater.
The theater, as well as all surrounding businesses, will remain open during construction.

According to the current project timeline, the theater expects to open its new addition by the end of the year. Once the new addition debuts, the historic theater will be renovated.
"After we open the new addition, we will close our classic 1938 theater for repairs and renovations. This work will include a new sound separation wall between the existing auditoriums, new carpet and paint, facade repairs, and, critically, new seats with more legroom," according to the theater's website.
A grand opening for the entire project is anticipated in 2021.
There is a meeting scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the County Theater. It will be a chance for the community to learn more about the expansion project, its schedule, parking, and any additional issues that will affect town during construction.
"Although these meetings are primarily for merchants, also welcome are borough residents and all theater members," the theater's announcement said.
