County Theater To Stream Classic Cartoons Saturday Morning

The County Theater is getting creative during the coronavirus closure: it will be streaming classic cartoons this Saturday morning.

DOYLESTOWN, PA —Harken back the Saturday mornings of yore this weekend thanks to the County Theater. The local theater will be live streaming classic cartoons Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

You can watch them by going to the theater's YouTube page. If you don't catch them Saturday morning, they'll be available to watch through May 9.

The theater has compiled the program of classic public domain cartoon shorts, which are suitable for kids. Favorites to be featured include Betty Boop, Merrie Melodies, and more.

The live stream is just one creative way the nonprofit theater has been offering programming since the coronavirus crisis has shut its State Street venue.

They've hosted virtual watch parties, and are offering streaming of films with proceeds going to support the theater while it's closed.

Later in the day Saturday, the theater will host a Virtual Watch Party of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" starting at 8 p.m. Participants can watch on Netflix and chat about the movie on Discord.

Plus, the theater's website features "virtual new releases" of documentaries, comedies, and more.
