“We were honored to be included on the list and to be listed among so many other bookstores that we admire,” said Krisy Elisii, the store's director of marketing, events and schools.

So what makes the Doylestown Bookshop so loved by the community?

“First and foremost, we believe it's our booksellers and the excellent customer service we offer," said Elisii. "This is a family-owned business, and we truly enjoy working here. Many of us have been here for five, ten, and in some cases, over 20 years. That speaks to what a special place this is."

In addition, said Elisii, "We genuinely love books, read voraciously, and enjoy recommending our favorite books to our customers. We also host around 100 unique events each year, whether it's an author event, storytime, book club, or community gathering. We've enjoyed being a center for community for over 25 years.”

The independent book store located at 16 South Main Street offers a curated selection of books for all ages, stationery, cards, and unique gifts. Its buyers carefully handpick each item that is available in the bookstore, according to Elisii.

“We believe our unique displays and variety set us apart," says Elisii. "Additionally, we frequently collaborate with various community organizations, schools, and non-profits - whether providing donations, offering an author to a school free of charge, or partnering with a non-profit to raise funds. We take pride in supporting our community because we are grateful for the support that has brought us to where we are today.”
