“Patient safety is a central focus of the continuous quality improvement efforts of the Doylestown Hospital clinical staff,” said Scott Levy, MD, Chief Medical Officer. “As we prepare to begin our second century of compassionate caring and introduce new and complex health services, the Leapfrog patient safety score is a valuable affirmation of the care our patients expect and deserve.”
The Leapfrog Group, an independent watchdog organization, assigns grades of ‘A’ to ‘F’ to all general hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care.

“‘A’ hospitals show us their leadership is protecting patients from preventable medical harm and error,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes genuine commitment at every level – from clinicians to administrators to the board of directors – and we congratulate the teams who have worked so hard to earn this A.”
The group relies on a panel of experts to select the measures used in the methodology and to develop a scoring system. (You can read more about the letter grades here.)
